MDA President's Message First and foremost I would like to wish a happy and prosperous New Year to all the participants of the 31^st Myanmar Dental Conference and 12^nd FDI-MDA Joint Educational Meeting. May you all enjoy good health and success in the year 2011. Although Myanmar Dental Association Conferences are convened mainly with the academic objectives of updating our dental professionals with current dental advances, these are also moment for re-union among friends, home and abroad. Dental Associations all over the world have played a major role in upgrading the oral health status of the people which includes prevention of oral diseases, treatments using advancing technology and widely involving in research activities. Myanmar Dental Association is trying its best to keep abreast with international standards in all aspects of prevention, care and rehabilitation measures with regards to dental science. We should not be satisfied with what has been achieved but strive forward along with advancing science. To fulfil this aim we must work hard individually or in groups and also in collaboration with other governmental and non-governmental organizations so as to fulfil one of the social objectives of the government, that is to uplift the fitness and education of the entire nation. The association must play a vital role in continued professional development in collaboration with professional Institutions and State and Divisional dental associations. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the World Dental Education Society, FDI, the distinguished guest speakers from abroad, and all the attending delegates, and last but not the least to the personnel from dental industry who have supported through their goodwill for the Conference.
